The French government has announced the first dose of an erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra, to be approved in the United States.
The drug, which is being tested and prescribed in the United States, will be available by April 2023.
In October, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved the drug for treating erectile dysfunction in men.
Viagra has been shown to work well for men with erectile dysfunction but there have been some concerns over its safety.
“We are pleased to see the launch of the first dose of Viagra, which is an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction,” said EMA Director-General Jean-Pierre Pappalache, who has received the final approval of the European Commission’s (EC) approval of the drug.
“We hope that the first-dose treatment will help men with erectile dysfunction, with a greater impact on their sexual activity.”
Viagra, also known by its generic name sildenafil, is an oral drug that is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It has been approved for use in men as well as men in Europe.
It has been shown to work well for men with erectile dysfunction but there have been some concerns over its safety.
“We hope that the first dose of Viagra will help men with erectile dysfunction, with a greater impact on their sexual activity, to have a more satisfying sex life,” said Pappalache.
“We are pleased to see Viagra available in the U. S. and are confident that this will help men who have had erectile dysfunction, with a greater impact on their sexual activity.”
The EMA said the drug will be available in three strengths, 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. It is expected to be available in March 2023.
The EMA has received reports of a man suffering from a serious side effect known as priapism, which requires urgent medical attention.
“This is a very serious condition and if there is any possibility of treatment, it is recommended that there be an endoscopy or an endoscopy of the penis and an endoscopy of the scrotum. The risk of this side effect is also very low and the patient is not at risk for priapism,” Pappalache added.
The EMA said it is not clear whether Viagra is being used for the prevention of priapism in men, or to treat it in men. The EMA said there was no evidence that Viagra could increase the risk of priapism in men taking any other drugs.
Pappalache said the company will work with the FDA to develop the drug to be available in the United States.
READ MORE“As we look to improve our ability to provide our customers with quality and affordable medicines, the introduction of an effective and affordable erectile dysfunction treatment is expected to be an important step forward,” said Pappalache.
The EMA’s latest announcement, however, was made without the mention of Viagra. Pfizer, the maker of Viagra, has not responded to requests for comment.
Pappalache’s announcement of the first dose of Viagra is a reference to the approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of a drug that has been indicated for treating erectile dysfunction in men.
“For patients who may be suffering from serious side effects, Viagra should only be used for a short duration and only in very limited doses,” he said.
“Our objective is to provide a safe and effective treatment for erectile dysfunction in men. We hope that the first dose of Viagra will help patients with this condition.”
Pappalache said the FDA approved the drug in Europe but it is not clear what the exact dose will be.
Pappalache said there was no evidence that Viagra could increase the risk of priapism in men taking any other drugs.
“The data does not show that the drug could increase the risk of priapism in men taking any other drugs,” he said.
